Yoga and driving are not the best combination
Tonight was the 3rd session in my beginner yoga class. I thoroughly enjoyed it although I didn't go all comatose like I did the first time. Last week was kind of a bummer as the lady next to me had some gas issues...the entire time. It's a little hard to keep your concentration when someone is ripping it up next to you and the rubber mats do not keep the noise level down any! Needless to say, I couldn't get my concentration back where it should've been. Tonight, several people didn't show up so there was a lot of room to spread out. We tried a lot of new poses and one in particular (which I cannot remember the name of) involved us basically laying on your back with your butt against the wall and your legs straight up the wall. I thought it would take a lot of effort but it was actually nice and relaxing. We stayed like this for a few minutes and did a variety of deep breathing at the end. I was extremely relaxed when I left. So relaxed that putting my hands on the steering wheel took effort. As bad as it sounds, I'd put my hands in my lap and drive with my knee for awhile. But then I'd think about what would happen if Bambi decided to play kamikaze on the highway and I'd grip the wheel again. Considering the amount of deceased deer I've seen on the highway, I realized this was a realistic possibility.
