And the spending begins...

I'm beginning the process of, wait for it...dum da dum!...planning my wedding! We finally set a date and are now looking into venues. I've got a couple in mind, which have been in my mind for several months for when such an occasion would occur! One is at a golf course in Denver; the other is at a ranch in Vail, right on a lake. Scenery-wise, they don't get more beautiful than the place in Vail. I think I'm leaning way more toward the one in Vail just because it is what I envisioned when I would get married. Not to mention, it's much cheaper too so it's an added bonus. In a perfect, no-budget world, I would have loooved to have gotten married at the Little Nell in Aspen but neither Dan nor I think it's completely necessary to be in debt for a 1 day "party", even if the scenery is amazing. I think the place in Vail is just as good, if not better, due to the scenery and the atmosphere is more us anyway...laid back and chill, not pretentious like Aspen.

While I have expensive tastes, I hardly ever indulge in them. Like, I love the look of certain designer shoes but I have a serious issue with dropping $400 on a pair of boots that I probably would only wear a dozen times. I've started the fun "job" of flipping through bridal magazines, looking at dresses and for thoughts and inspiration when it comes to well, everything else! I've found a dress designer, whose work I just love. However, I'm not loving his price tags so much. As in, $5000 for a dress. While that may not be a lot to some girls who are dreaming and drooling over their weddings, there is no way I will fork over that for a dress. Would I accept it if someone bought it for me? Uh, yeah! But that much for a few hours and will possibly have who knows what spilled and dripped on it? I'm no dummy. But if Jim Hjelm (the designer) reads this and thinks he wants to bless me with one of said dresses, call me and I'll glady give my measurements!
