This is fashion?

Now that I'm finally back in retail civilization...i.e. Denverl, I'm back to perusing the stores I missed for 6 months while working in Pennsylvania. Out running errands, I decide that a stop at the Cherry Creek Mall was in order. I was looking for birthday gifts for my soon-to-be niece's birthday and wasn't really looking to shop for myself. Although it happened but not to the capacity I have been known for. Whenever I hit up the CCM, I always park by The Container Store (awesome by the way) and go in through the Urban Outfitters entrance. It's the most convenient for moi. Part of me feels bad for "using" the Urbanites this way but then I feel better after I take a look at their $80 tank tops...they're not hurting.

It wasn't until my shopping was over and I was heading back out through UO that I notice a certain mannequin. I cannot remember what the top half was but the bottom half was clad in these torn fishnet leggings. I know leggings are in now and I do own a few myself, but they are of the solid-piece-of-fabric variety. This mannequin looked like a complete hooker. I know the 80's fashion is back and I have yet to figure this one out. The neon colored, guys-wearing-girls-jeans thing, horrible in every sense of the word idea of fashion has brought some seriously bad fashion back into the spotlight.

These leggings were shredded and had holes all over them. And they were around $40. About $40 too much if you ask me. These things looked like they'd been worn by some lovely lady of the evening and she'd been dragged behind a bus down a few blocks of Colfax. Please fashion designers, the washed-up-prostitute look should not be what is paying the bills each month!
